Synopsis A comedy beyond belief. Empire Review A rollercoaster of a film - 4.5 out of 5  (4/25/2000) If you are looking for a breakneck comedy filmed with consummate skill, humor and misplaced warmth, then "Raising Arizona" should fill all of your needs. The movie tells the story of H.I. and Ed Mcdonough, a doomed couple who will go to outrageous lengths to make themselves happy. Hi (Nicholas Cage) is a career criminal. He isn't a very good one. His three failed attempts have landed him in jail each time and he is branded a lifetime criminal. Nicholas Cage is an ex-con who marries Holly Hunter ,"A twice decorated officer of the law so we think it kind of balances out,"says Cage to an adoption supervisor once they discover they can't have children of their own. Throw in John Goodman and a cast of true characters and you have a flat out funny movie. The only disclaimer I would throw in is that you must appreciate stupid humour.
